Security+ For Defense Careers

Security+ is the most common “prove you speak risk and controls” credential on early cleared-tech postings. It will not get you a clearance by itself. It helps ATS and recruiters trust that you can learn DoD/IC vocabulary quickly.

When It Helps

• Secret or hybrid cloud/security roles that list Security+ as required or preferred
• Career switchers from commercial SaaS without NIST/RMF proof on the resume
• Gaps flagged by Evaluate Resume around IAM, vulnerability, or Zero Trust language
