How To Qualify For Cleared Roles

Most civilian technologists are closer than they think. Recruiters look for mission framing, trustworthy systems language, and proof you can operate near NIST/RMF expectations, not a magic clearance broker.

  1. Step 1

    Pick A Target Role Family

Cloud security, autonomy software, forward-deployed engineering, or GovTech product each imply different keywords and clearance norms. Start on Find Roles and open two or three postings you could actually finish.

  2. Step 2

    Evaluate Fit

Use Evaluate Resume with a target job id. We list present vs missing skills and recommended certifications so you are not guessing which course to buy.

  3. Step 3

    Buy Prep

Buy a DefTechRoles prep pack on-site for the top gap (often Security+ or GovCloud architecture). Partner enroll is optional if you prefer an external vendor.

  4. Step 4

    Unlock An Ats Rewrite

After gaps are clear, unlock the ATS blueprint so bullets speak in mission outcomes, DD254/MIPR-aware language where honest, and control-family vocabulary.

  5. Step 5

    Apply And Track

Apply externally from the job page, save roles to your Shortlist, and subscribe to Mission Alerts for your clearance tier.
